Hi everyone, I have been keeping up to date with everyone’s progress and thought I’d see if anyone can help me.
My partner had an interview back in Aug 24 and was recommended for a waiver due to having previous convictions. The consulate officer just gave him a piece of paper to say he’d been recommended and that was it. There was a space for a reference number at the top but it was blank and just a stamp for the date.
Do we just trust that something was actually submitted as he wasn’t asked to do anything else? I’m worried that we wait all this time and then find out he should have filled in a form or something. Thank you for reading.

In April of 2022 I received a I-194 waiver for five years, which takes about a year to receive, you need to pay for it, and need it before you can apply for a visa . It was good for B1/B2 and L1B visas .( I had an L1B that expired last March)

lurker from Canada here , I really wish I had seen the spreadsheet sooner as I was told by the consulate officer that my waiver would be “a few “ months. I had an interview at the Vancouver consulate for an E2 visa June 21/24 and was recommended for a waiver of ineligibility June 26.

I saw on the website link posted today with the Canadian timeframes that the fee is quite hefty and was due to increase on 1st April 2024 so it was suspected that there were mass applications in March 2024 which has held matters up.

Correct, and the majority of us here do not know when our applications are actually sent to the ARO. It could be a couple of days, a week or even longer before the consulate actually sends them. So we are not just dealing with the ARO estimated range of 9-12 months, but also however long they sit within the consulate prior to submission.

Would love to add your details to the tracker. What date was your interview, what visa you applying for, is it your 1st, and what location (London or somewhere else)?

Need all the prayers and luck I can get. I am waiting for a student visa (F1) but the uncertainty forced me to seek alternatives. I have another funded offer of admission from a different country (with visa approved), which I have to respond to within the next 10-14 days. Ideally, I would have chosen this offer already, but the program in the US is one of the best and the university is globally acclaimed. So I am going to give myself the next few days before I can finally make a commitment.
