Non-Married Couples - anyone help?

I have been offered a move from my company to the US. I hold a british passport, as
do my partner and children.
Basically we have been together for 15 years, have a large family, just never got
round to that marriage thing.
I assume I would be moving on an L1 visa.
My question, of course - is will this be a problem? We have nothing against marriage
and we would be quite willing to 'get it done' if need be, although one would assume
that this itself could be problematic. I don't want it to seem that I am getting
married to 'beat the visa system'.
I work for a blue-chip company, have a blue-chip relationship although I am wary that
I could fall foul of bureaucracy.
Any advice would help put my mind at rest.
Thanks in advance.

You should get married and then get visas for your entire family. There is no
provision to bring a partner to the US - and there should be no problem with getting
married just before filing for the visas. Take Care. Shelley
