I have been offered a move from my company to the US. I hold a british passport, as
do my partner and children. Basically we have been together for 15 years, have a large family, just never got round to that marriage thing. I assume I would be moving on an L1 visa. My question, of course - is will this be a problem? We have nothing against marriage and we would be quite willing to 'get it done' if need be, although one would assume that this itself could be problematic. I don't want it to seem that I am getting married to 'beat the visa system'. I work for a blue-chip company, have a blue-chip relationship although I am wary that I could fall foul of bureaucracy. Any advice would help put my mind at rest. Thanks in advance. S |
You should get married and then get visas for your entire family. There is no
provision to bring a partner to the US - and there should be no problem with getting married just before filing for the visas. Take Care. Shelley > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > |
