New York pizza.... droool.... My friend Dino's just bought a pizza parlour so I'm looking forward to scoffing loads of it.

In New York it's thin and crispy. Chicago is traditionally deep pan "pie" isn't it?
Absolutely 100% agree...the worst pizza my family have had was on Mag. Mile, Chicago.

BUT NOT MY DEEP DISH!
It's more like a quiche than a pizza...only not as good as a quiche.

I use it once in a great while to visit my sil in Montreal. Pick up the train in Yonkers and change trains in Albany and continue north right across the border to Canada. Beautifully visual ride. Taking the car, of course, is faster but the scenery doesn't enthrall you until you pass Lake George and enter the Adirondacks. Then it is breathtakingly beautiful.
Your an old neighbour then

Deep Dish pan is an entirely different thing than regular pizza, I'd agree there. When I want pizza, I'm in the mood for one or the other of them - I don't really consider them the same food.

But... I LOVE my deep dish!!!

You don't like it - well - like we say to kids "More for ME!"

Not sure where you were on the magnificent mile - like any big city, we have lousy pizza joints too.
