Gonna chip in here. Me and the missus arrived in Cairns on 12/10 and so far are really liking it. We're from Wales but have spent 6 years in NZ before coming out here. Luckily enough to find a rental in Kewarra Beach, 10 minutes walk from the beach.

Stating the obvious, rental costs per week vary as to what type of hse you want. Our two rentals were in a prime area and huge with 4 bedrooms, 2 bath, two living areas and pool, so we did pay a high rate per week but, there are so many diff typs of houses for rent and at much cheaper rates. 3 bed are generally a lot cheaper per week especially without a pool and in our experience, more readily available than 4 bed if renting or buying. Youngy is right regarding rental cost for the sort of house he wishes to rent, but he is used to the best :D So, dont panic quite yet - you will have food on the table! Gill :) |
