The house I was supposed to move to has an offer accepted and I either pay an extra $100 a week or not move in....so I've got 3 days to find somwhere to live :curse::cry_smile:

I did a drive by yesterday and it looked OK, will try and arrange a viewing for next week, it's not available for about 3 weeks and a friend from work has just called about a place in Trinity beach available now and owner is willing to rent on month to month basis so hopefully that might be the answer while we look for something else

I take it you're not in Oz yet? We went looking on a Friday, viewed a few on the Monday and had this place by the Wednesday and we have two cats. We pushed them hard to get approval mind. Offered 6 months rent up front if we got a descision quickly. We went through these guys. Follow the links for rental. We pay $360 a week. We could have paid a lot more, anything up to $600 if we wanted a pool etc. This place is quite small compared to what we had in NZ. We can't possibly fit all our furniture in when it arrives. 3 bedrooms of an average size but it's only for 2 of us so we don't mind. If a rental doesn't specify 'no pets' then pets are usually OK. Some houses/duplexes etc specify no pets as they have next to no garden. I'll PM my email later on although I really don't know when we'll vacate this property. It could be sooner but it could be later :confused:

we are looking for a rental in kewarra for december and its not proving easy. rental prices have gone through the roof. we will be looking at $500 a week for a similar house to what we live at the moment.

We are coming over on one wage initially and I couldn't afford to eat or get to work if we had to pay that!!!

Stating the obvious, rental costs per week vary as to what type of hse you want. Our two rentals were in a prime area and huge with 4 bedrooms, 2 bath, two living areas and pool, so we did pay a high rate per week but, there are so many diff typs of houses for rent and at much cheaper rates.

3 bed are generally a lot cheaper per week especially without a pool and in our experience, more readily available than 4 bed if renting or buying.

Youngy is right regarding rental cost for the sort of house he wishes to rent, but he is used to the best :D

So, dont panic quite yet - you will have food on the table!

OMG!! I have been offered the most amazing house in Trinity Beach up on a hill with views of the sea for $320 a week inc bills!! Every cloud really does have a silver lining. The guy (an actor moving to Melbourne to work on a Spielburg film!) will rent it month by month and just didn't want it sitting empty, can move in Monday....family arrive Tuesday morning
