[QUOTE=Big Truck;5488089]With the greatest respect Chris,
We're talking about company drivers not O/O's or O/D's.
What would your drivers say if they where tipping/loading at a RDC or broke down for 4/5 hours and not earn a brown penny in that time because its PPM?
QUOTE]
I think that is what you call "taking the rough with the smooth"
And to be fair, Canada has a different system to the U.K. - it must work for the majority, as it's the system they've been using for years. I thinks it's just a case of what people are used to.
If SFE are happy to pay using the system they do, and drivers are happy to work for them (again majority) - I can't see a problem with it.

The fact that Davie-mac informed me in another post that Charlottetown was about the same size as Lisburn here in NI makes me think its going to be VERY quiet come the depth of Winter.
In Lisburn if you can't find something your really looking for you take a trip through to Belfast.
In PEI you might have to take a trip to the outskirts of Halifax (e.g. Bayers Lake) the only difference is it is a greater distance but that is the sheer size of the place. I know people who live in Enniskillen who would not dream of driving approx 80 -90 mile to Belfast as it is too far for them.
We are back to the old same old...What do you want where do you want to live what recreational needs do you have. We know PEI is the perfect place for us 2 adults no kids and a dog prob 2 by the time we move.
If we were going to stay in the UK then we would be looking at the North & I mean the North Of Scotland you can't get any remoter than that.
PEI has everything WE need but it might not be and is not for everyone just as Toronto is not for us it could be a dream city for others.
