I grudgingly have eaten veggie food, and shhh quite enjoyed some of it. But what gets my back up are the terms vegetarian bacon, or vegetarian chicken!! No! No! and effin no, its not bacon its not chicken its veggie.
If you want to eat bacon then eat bacon, don't pretend that disgusting slimy veggie shite is bacon, and for gods sake don't call it bacon.

Ok DJ calm down boy...............

Vegetarian is bad but this Vegan biz is criminal. A further sign that Britain is no longer "Top Nation !

Judging by the responses, I guess the trailer park would be opposed to a vegan or vegetarian stand being set up on the property. Especially one that sold meat substitutes.

i must admit it baffles me. if you are vegetarian its surely because you dont WANT to eat meat, so why then make things and pretend they are.

Just have 'protein bolognaise' if you want with your rubber tofu but dont call it vegetarian mince.

and im not against vegetarians - i just thought the choice would BE vegetables to eat, not plastic meat. I eat a lot of food without meat myself because i simply like the vegetable dish.

There is a vegetarian restaurant I insist on going to when I go back to the UK. It does serves a few vegan things. I'm not vegetarian, but this restaurant does some nice stuff, that you just don't miss the meat. I could not go vegan though. We did take a vegan friend out for a meal once to a local pub/restaurant, and it wasn't that hard to find something on the menu to suit him.

But yeah, tofu n' kelp is not fish n' chips no matter how many gallons of LSD you dump on it.

The whole vegan meals pretending to be meat is a bit of a silly one though. It's a bit like
Spoiler:
lesbians using dildos
, when you think about it (spoilers for mildly inappropriate analogy).

There are tons of meat dishes, it's not surprising that a vegan would try to reproduce their old favourites without the meat.

Recreating a meat dish without the meat is pretty pointless. Tofu can only go so far, and you won't create a nice, properly flavoured, traditional fish and chips without using animal products. It can't be done.

My favourite are vegetarian sausages. People who eat meat aren't entirely sure what's in regular sausages, can't imagine what goes into a vegetarian one and it does not have to be that arbitrary sausage shape either.
