I would drink a 0.5% wheat beer back in Sheffield. I think it was Erdinger and was actually very tasty.

Yes and again why bother.
I have no idea how decaffeinated tea is, I have never tried it. Most people don't drink tea for the caffeine though, since it's not got that much.

I don't know if there's no discernible difference it taste, but I started up drinking coffee again primarily for the fact that caffeine suppresses my appetite, so there really would be no point in me drinking decaf

Tea just makes me want to OD on biscuits, sadly.

Shandy Bass was about 0.5% and we all know that was the dog's bollocks

My sister drinks decaf tea. She buys it in granules in a jar...milk has already been added. Sounds gross...looks gross and tastes gross.

Tea... granules?

Granny N. would not approve of that AT ALL.

Now I know I'm apparently odd in loathing tea but even to me that sounds more vile than a vile thing.

0.5%!

When I first drank shandy (canned, not draft in a bar) it was 2% - 50:50 ber and lemonade. Later it was cut to 1.2%. .... Now it's down to 0.5%?

Was it 2%? I can't remember, I thought it was less. Maybe I just pulled that out number of my arse, but I haven't had Shandy Bass since I started going to the pub, which was in 1996, so my memory might be foggy.

It was still the shit though.

Yes, because I remember noticing it being cut to 1.2% because after the cut it tasted watery.

Ah. Memory serves that the Shandy Bass I drank was not watery, so it must have been the 2% kind.

The best shandies were the ones my dad made at my granny's house for me with a can of Harp and some brown lemonade. If I were of the inclination to misuse the 'sharp' musical notation followed by a string of unintelligible text, it would need to be 'just Northern Ireland things' for that one

Indeed. It tastes different out here, much moreso than Guinness does. Not in a bad way but just different.

To call someone a shandy drinker was a bit of an insult back in the pub where I worked.

Having said that I learned to love it in Mexico, made with Corona or similar, a grapefruit soda and, sometimes, a dash of rum.

Yeah, well I was like 8 or something when my dad used to make those shandies for me, and when you're 12, buying a can of Shandy Bass was fun because you could pretend it was real beer
