WTF in America

Re: WTF in America
We joke sometimes about cutting the back out of our mailbox and taping a garbage sack over the hole!

I'm waiting for my first US Passport, and Naturalization Cert to come back, so I currently diligently inspect everything in the mailbox before trashing it

Re: WTF in America
USPS needs to let people opt out of junk mail, we have that option in Canada, junk mail is near obsolete now, the only thing that comes is government junk mail now, and during elections politicians, suppose they are exempt.

Pretty sure junk mail is what keeps the USPS in business. Must be worth a fortune to them.

Last spring they actually sent nearly 1 million letters out, asking those who opted out of junk mail to reconsider....lol

Sometimes we don't get any mail at all. I like those days - no bills.
We don't get a whole lot of junk mail. A lot of offers for credit cards and the like but they go right into the shred pile. I wish we could put our bills in there, too

Its amazing that the companies you have to do business with (utilities, cell phone, car insurance, etc.) must sell your name to these junk mailers, we must get at least 2 mails a week from Geiko and the like, plus for some reason the name on the cable bill is mis-spelt so we always know who they have sold our name too.
I work with a Dutch guy who has 3 credit cards, one in his 'English' name John, one in his 'Dutch' name Jan and one with initials only. He knows where the junk mail originates from.

We got a piece of junk mail once that had our address but the 'name' of the addressee was just my wife's maiden name twice
