We have stuck with Person of Interest also, only one of the new shows we stayed with.
Have Whitechapel and Killing lined up on DVR
Never seen Madmen so we gave it a shot last week. We both looked at each other and said is this as good as it gets Didnt even finish episode
Are we the only ones who depend on subtitles Everyone seems to mumble these days or the background noise/ music drowns everything

I have officially declared to never watch the utter dross that is NCIS:LA again. It was always cheesy wank - but the laying-on think nonsense about the God-like status of Navy Seals is actually making me angry. Especially when it's repeated at face value despite LL Cool J and Batman's sidekick investigating another freaking murder conducted by a Navy Seal on another Navy Seal (or in the case of the last one I watched - by six Navy Seals on one other one). Usually after a Seal has either stolen millions of dollars or threatened to derail the very War on Terror itself for personal gain. The show is pretty much about American military people killing each other - buffered by reminders that there is no nobler human on earth than an American military person. It's annoying.
I'll probably watch the original NCIS again tho. The cheese in that makes me laugh rather than seethe. Unless they have the boss deliver another ****ing baby or have another one of the investigators' mothers show up and admitting that they've secretly been CIA agents for decades and were involved in secret worldwide black-ops plots to dramatically change the human race forever.

That was hysterical. "You clearly don't value the lives of Navy Seals...." said an angry man who yesterday had killed a Navy Seal.

I was alive during the 60s & it does bring back my childhood & helps me remember what a weird time that was. I think they get a lot of the details right in the historical sense. BUT I almost can't stand the whole sick man-woman relationship stuff that was (I guess) a holdover from the 50s, when the little woman tried so hard to please her man. Makes me a little ill.
Have started watching The Killing too, & don't understand what's going on at all . . . but at least the central character is a real woman in charge of her own life, hah!

It is a daft show, but do enjoy it, though not sure I care much for this gangster back story.
Can't say I really liked The Killing so far, but got another episode lined up after the double billing of the second series...but at least the horrid knitted sweaters were kept from the original.

Annoyingly, I ended up still watching Missing. It's so shit though, but I've not given up on it yet.

Well I'm done with Missing - It's AWFUL! The last episode with her friend - WTH???
Touch - ugh! HATE it! OH still wants to watch though - the only way I can get through that terrible show is by counting how many times Jack Bau... erm, whatever his character's name is - says "Jake" "Jaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkeeee". Got up to 28 times half way through an episode then was told to shurrup.
Hello??? He ignores you ALL the time - why keep saying his name?
Awake - oh dear. I do like the lead actor but it's such a bad show.
Thank God for Game of Thrones and Justified.
Veep is supposed to start in 2 weeks - will try that. Has anyone seen Life's too short on HBO? Warwick kills me! He's bloody brilliant!

Make it or Break it.
Third series, it's a bit meh. The little one really liked the show mostly because there was a lot of gymnastics, but this series so far, not very much and it's all a load of guff with bad back story lines and crap new characters.

Don't Trust that *itch in Apartment 23
Looked like it could have been quite fun and cheesy, but it turned out to be really dire and terribly unfunny.
Basically person moves from the boonies to NY for a new job but the place is getting shut down, so there goes her accommodation so she finds an apartment but the room mate turns out to be a bit of a bitch.
Having the Beak from Dawson's, was probably a big hint in this but at least they play off of that I suppose.

I started using subtitles when I watched The Wire. Lots and lots of mumbling and I could barely follow some of the plot lines. Subtitles to the rescue and now I refuse to watch anything without subtitles.
Some of the British movies that Netflix has for streaming have no subtitles and it is a torture to decipher what they are saying.

Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries.
It's a Australian drama, about 9 episodes in and only just caught an episode but really liked it.
It's set in Melbourne in the 1920's, following this high society type woman who sets out to be a detective with a gun to keep her company.
Very cheesy, kind of Miss Marple style of murder, but a lot more cheeky and slightly rude.
Really good this.
