Default Stuff not allowed into the US.

Hello there. Now naturally illegal items are not allowed to be transported into the US - however, I distinctly remember being sniffed at by a customs dog (canine) when going through LAX some years ago, and apparently, they were not looking for drugs but fruit and veg??

A friend of mine who relocated to Australia a couple of years ago wasnt allowed to take any of her wicker baskets with her and had to disinfect anything with wheels, ie pushchair, bikes etc before they were shipped out by the packers.

Anyone know of any such restrictions/rules applying to the US??

For starters: No Fresh Fruit or Vegetables can be brought in. Nothing with Beef in it can be brought in. If you have any food or stuff it's safer to declare it. They will ask you to go through a different customs area that is just for agriculture. We brought back a bunch of Seasoning mixes and Peshwari naans last time and they were ok with that.

No Cuban Cigars and I remember something on the waiver form about Beanie Babies but that was a while back.

Unless there is a foot n mouth outbreak again Had to argue long and hard with a Customs officer that my Cadburys Dairy Milk chocolate was safe and did not cointain fresh dairy produce

I just put candy on the customs declaration. There's no way I'm letting them get their mits on my Cadbury's.

And on one of my entry escapades i did get sniffed at, was quite an awesom experience since its been a long time that someone even got that low on me let alone sniffed.(lmao) just wish it had been 6 ft taller and dark, rugged and handsom, and smelling of obsession. But I got the doggy smell for doggy lovers and all he wanted was my apple. Greedy git.

Don't believe anyone who tells you that Vegemite and/or Marmite are banned because of folate concerns!! Its a hoax.

Technically Cuban cigars are still on the embargo.
