lol Sally.. as I was explaining to the bewildered Kiwis, Kentucky is sort of the butt of America jokes.. see: Teethbrush, The Joke etc.
All in good fun. I'm sure it's a lovely place. As C noted last night when I said they have the Derby there.. 'The Queen attends, so KY must be alright!'.
ABY, I'm still hunting up the recent story about the homeschool kids playing with the turkey body parts in the slaughterhouse.... I'm tellin' ya, you'd feel right at home out here!

Shudder, I have promised myself never to fall into that style of footwear (or lack of style) Sally promise yourself too, never leave the house in flip flops, it's a nasty slippery slope. Real sandals are so much nicer looking.

In my defense, are Essex girls wearing crocs about? Or just expat Essex girls? If you want a snob though, you should have met one of the women we stayed with in New Zealand. It about killed her to go into a "Pac 'n Save" because she didn't like the kind of people who shopped there.
She also thought the shopkeepers were being "way too personal" when they asked us how our day was going, but seemed to have no problem sharing that Indian food led to her bowels being quite active the next day.
