For those who are on FB, here is a Video of the last remaining Vulcan, flying over the Lake District.
The Vulcan will be grounded for good, at the end of this flying season. Jim https://www.facebook.com/#!/andrea.m...0572575620208/ |

I saw XH558 at Yeovilton a couple of years back. Beautiful machine.

I can't help but think that the lone example to complete a wartime mission must have done more harm to Argentinian morale by its presence over the occupied Falkland Islands than it did to the runway at Port Stanley. |
Re: Planespotting
It was the star of the show when it flew at Farnborough the one year. As Pulaski says, the sound and feeling of it was as much a spectacle as the sight of the aircraft itself.

Justice Department has opened an investigation on the major airlines to see if they have colluded to keep capacity low and fares high.

WTF do they think code sharing and the various "alliance" groups are for? Its not just the airlines wanting to be friends and sharing their toys!
In other airline news, Westjet had it's 5th bomb threat in a week tonight, flight from Vegas made a diversion to Victoria, BC nothing was found officials are not taking it as a credible threat but taking precautions. WestJet flight from Las Vegas to Victoria receives bomb threat - British Columbia - CBC News RCMP are investigating. It seems someone has some issues with Westjet since whoever is doing it is focusing on that one airline, and doing one a day. Once found the person faces prison, as well as potential civil lawsuits from the airline and passengers. |

Here are two great airplanes. My Vans RV3 which cruises at 160mph on 108hp and a DC 3 which blew an engine at our Tennessee airport over 20 years ago and the owners can't afford to fix.

Re: Planespotting
I don't want to take this thread off on a tangent but just wondered why lots of people seem to have a problem with Ryanair? Is a lot of it down to unrealistic expectations?
I've just had a debate on Facebook this afternoon where the main gripes of one passenger were: "I've never had to sit at the gate and watch the previous passengers disembarking before we were boarded immediately afterwards" and "the seat had crumbs on it and was still warm when I sat down!" How do these people manage to survive in the real world? :sneaky: |
Re: Planespotting
Call me old fashioned, but I like to sit on a clean seat when I board an aircraft.'I also like to land relatively close to the destination I'm going to. Not to mention Michael O'Leary is a complete and utter tosser!!
