Oh, I just started a thread about it, Mods can merge into here if they want.

Next moves may be crucial to avoid some huge escalation. Memories of the Korean airliner shot down in the cold war.

Probably best to leave where it is, this incident is likely to run and run.

Sitting in Hong Kong at the moment waiting for a flight to Singapore and saw these "tail to tail" 380s. Sorry not very exciting for you professional spotter types, but I've never seen 2 together before...

Ps...It's been pretty windy here and I was impressed that neither of their tails had fallen off.......

Typhoon just passed and quite a few china-bound flights cancelled. Fortunately southound flights (us!) seem ok. Interesting inbound flight though....got struck by lightning on final approach. That was a first for me!

It's true that the Far East has bought a large percentage of A380s, mostly because their trunk routes are so high volume that it makes sense to fly something that size on much shorter segments.

The top 7 busiest routes by seat capacity are all in the Far East.

I just had my first go in a 747-8 last night from Frankfurt to Seoul. Was one of the 5(?) Lufthansa World-cup branded aircraft. Was just under 3 months old - new plane smell!

Not my pic:

FAA has just announced that Chicago area flights won't be back to normal until October 13th.

This is due to the Cockwomble, who tried to kill himself, destroying the equipment at the Aurora (IL) ATC Facility.
