Used to enjoy watching Air Craft Investigation too on Nat Geo, especially just before a flight. My ex, as a nervous flyer used to go mad when I stuck it on

Yeah, would be a cool job. One of the vest lectures I had training for my old job was from an AAIB guy. Was also interesting to see them go about their work in the aftermath of the LHR 777 crash. Used to enjoy watching Air Craft Investigation too on Nat Geo, especially just before a flight. My ex, as a nervous flyer used to go mad when I stuck it on

I got the wife into ACI - which has come in handy with the SFO crash and this one. She can now carry a conversation on air accidents :)

Is it shown over here? I've never actually seen it in the listings. Seemed to be on almost daily back home.
Fortunately. |

Re: Planespotting
Another of my ex's favorites, Seconds From Disaster . Actually most of the air accidents there resulted in survivors. I used or tell her that even if your plane crashes, the chances of you being killed are remote. I remember sitting in a bar at LAX waiting for our flight home whilst we watched the live coverage of the JetBlue with the damaged nosegear circle overhead before attempting its landing. I had to virtually drag her onto the plane after that

Re: Planespotting
If you're dead it was a crash. If you survive it was a landing. Any landing you walk away from is a good one.

:) Take the 777 crash at LHR for example. No fatalities and worst injury, one guy suffered a broken leg. |

Until Asiana 214 I heard there hadn't been a fatality in the US on a commercial jet in over ten years.
Also Comair 5191 in 2006 was a jet - the first officer survived, 40-odd others didn't. |
