I've seen cops parked on a grass incline going up to an overpass checking for speed completely out of sight of anyone driving under the overpass.
I've also seen blacked out cops parked in the divide of an interstate where it dips down enough so that they can't be visible, but I guess a radar can just about pick up cars. |

We have giant signs telling us not to do that. We even have one at the end of our road but I have no idea how someone could even if they wanted to.

The lack of man-size tissues. I'm brewing up a horrible snotty cold and the facial tissues over here just aren't up to it.

Re: Pet Peeves?
On the subject of tolls, a freeway near me has a toll/HOV lane. When there is no toll, it says "OPEN TO ALL" instead of a simple "no toll" or "no fee", which is confusing and therefore fewer people use it and the remaining lanes get a bit bunged up.

Really?! I hate those big tissues in UK. They are big, but aren't any stronger than the Kleenex I get in massive packages at Costco. I find the 'man size' is just a waste since it's icky to reuse them ...
I do have a related peeve though - little Miss P dabs her nose couple of times, or sniffs into a tissue once, then throws it away. She can get through half a dozen tissues within fifteen minutes and not have had a good honk into any of them! :frown: |

I recall seeing those signs. Had I known "open to all" meant no toll, I would have used those lanes and gotten out of the massive traffic jam.

Agreed - I prefer to use tissues and chuck 'em. The big ones are no more use than a regular tissue, just bigger

I even looked it up on the DOT website and it didn't explain it clearly - I had to watch a video on Youtube to see what the phrase really meant.

Re: Pet Peeves?
Sign on toll road in California. "No charge weekends and holidays" That should be pretty simple to understand
