British Expats - Pet Peeves?

Ours is basically just a downstairs with no drywall. The deepest below grade part is about 4'. You could, if you wanted to, put a door to the back yard in.

It's become something of a dumping ground for stuff including, among other things, a stack of rough-sawn 2x and 1x timber from my own trees, a sledge, my generator, some unused plumbing pipes, two animal traps, and my short extension ladder.
