Essentially, with the previous year, you could. Well you'd take the console panel off and disconnect the sensor computer, but from my year on, they changed it so you can't and it needs a dealer only tech2 box to disable it and well, there's no dealer around.

Aftermarkets aren't much use as it costs as much to get tyres remounted :/

ETA. Oh! I think that's what your peeve is, right? I thought you were complaining about driving habits/ brake use, not design of the car. I must admit I don't understand that either especially for cars like the Fusion that are made in other markets where the yellow indicator is required.

It's only both in combination that causes me to skip a few heartbeats, but the car design is the main factor in it.

No dealer? What sort of exotic wheels are you driving, or is it a SAAB or Suzuki?

It's a SAAB ...

Though, my ex-Suzuki dealer (also a Chevy one though) at least kept the service/parts department open at the old location and was honoring warranties and that for at least the next ten years.

Surely a GM dealer could help him? Also there are a number of independent specialist for brands like SAAB, I know of at least a couple down here, that are either SAAB specialists or cover SAAB among other European brands.

I don't know but worth a look, I'd say.

Because they hold the handset vertically, with the microphone down near their jaw/neck.

If you hold the handset up, with the microphone in front of, or at least very near to, your mouth, you can talk into the phone so quietly that the person in the next cube doesn't even know/ notice you're on the phone.

That would be nice, then I wouldn't be forced to listen to all of their personal phonecalls ...

My son's even worse when he's on the phone, he gets up and walks all over the ****ing house. Why the hell is he on the phone so much anyway, when I was his age, blokes didn't get on like that. ****ing modern teenagers and their manginas ...

Maybe there's niche market for phones with the handset connected by a wire to the base? You could have the base plugged in somewhere uncomfortable and inconvenient, say near the front door. Imagine what that would be like!

I told little Miss P recently that when I was a child we had one phone for the whole family, wired permanently to the wall, near the front door, and that there was no such thing a mobile phone. She just laughed hysterically!
