Also, however someone wants to support me in a tough situation, I'll take their positive thoughts, best wishes or their prayers because that way I know that THEY are sincere.

Actually, I would posit that it is the non-believers who are the sincere ones, as they will not coddle someone with things that don't work, nor will they be acting due to the promise of some otherworldy reward.

They will help a person find solutions that work, rather than esoteric ones or buzzwords so they can feel that they've 'done their part'. Those were the kinds of things I was referring to, I see and hear it all the time.
