That's a good contender for ironic post of the year, given that cheese is made by inoculating milk proteins with bacteria and waiting until the bacteria have digested it, which is a fair definition of "spoiled".

On the motorway between Milan & Turin today I saw an Italian fruit'n'veg van with an English phrase correctly punctuated including an apostrophe. How come the Italians get it right and the native speakers mangle it beyond comprehension?

I would have a school leaving test requiring every candidate to get these simple things right or stay on until they could. 'Plaza de Toros' might even become readable.

Doubtful though.

Where do they even come from?

Complete idiots.

Here's another one I noticed in P de T. Leave a space before your exclamation marks so !!! Immigrants are a big problem !!!

Instructions to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. If you want me to turn up at 8.30am for an 8.45am appointment, why don't you just make the appointment time for 8.30am so we all know what time I'm supposed to arrive?

Because they aren't going to see you until 9:15

At the earliest.

Sometimes, though, it works in your favour to be early because they might have a cancellation or something that means you end up getting seen more quickly.

I do that sometimes, when the last word ends with the letter 'ell'.

If I get there early due to being super organised or good traffic then that's fine, but enforced earliness of the "8.45am means 8.30am" variety is just stupid.

Probably. I know in reality it means that they want to go through the whole bloody id/insurance/address/consent rigmarole at reception, then nurses weighing and measuring you and getting you all ready so that doctor can swan in at 8.45am for 30 seconds, poke about and then bugger off and charge my insurance a small fortune.

Getting a smear test done by the practice nurse at my GP might have been more low-tech but there was considerably less (pardon me) fannying about!!!!
