Yeah, it was actually a pretty interesting paper though. I was examining the borderline between erotica and pornography (did I mention I was a photography student?).

I met my beloved Jeff when I went over to America in 2002 on a Camp America exchange thingy. I thought I was way too old to be doing this kind of thing at 25 but after university all my friends had gone travelling and this was my way of starting my own travels. I decided to go and teach at a camp for senior citizens in Pennsylvania and got paid extra for doing shitty work like painting the ladies toilets - which is how I met Jeff ! I was painting the Ladies and he was in the Gents next door fixing the ceiling tiles, when I went past he asked me to hold the door open for him, as his arms were full of ceiling tiles- after that he came and started talking to me and my friend and promptly went on to ask her out!!!
We became good friends anyway and he had "on the rebound" written across his forehead (not literally but he had that smell of heartbroken and desperate about him - you know what I mean)but we became close as he would often hang out with the same friends I had and would come and chat to me he also told me about about his ex-wife who he was on the rebound from (married young - didn't last) A week later at a party he told me what a mistake he had made asking my friend out and that he thought he should be with me - of course I told him to piss off and leave me alone - I mean, he was shagging my mate!
Anyway they only lasted 3 weeks and after that he kept turning up working where-ever I was working and was always behind me in the queue and sitting next to me at parties and generally stalking me! Finally after weeks of telling him I just wanted to be friends he resorted to desperate measures and arranged a very small gathering of a few friends from camp and proceeded to ply me with champagne he'd nicked from the kitchens then when I had drink goggles firmly in place he leapt on me attaching himself to my face in an Alien style-way. After that night I avoided him like genital herpes and he stepped up his stalking plan a gear. Finally he won me over with 2 weeks of late night walks where he would endearingly try and convince me why he thought we should have a relationship and then clinched it by suprising me with a candle- lit midnight picnic. Now a year and half later I'm absolutely completely and utterly in love with him and after having been allergic to the idea of marriage my entire life (commitment! ARGH!) am now dying to marry him and spend the rest of my life with him, when he proposed to me, by the lake at the camp where we first met on 20th Oct. this year I cried like a little girl! (mind you so did he!) and to think I thought he was a bit of a idiot at the start! Now I would give anything to be with him instead of ploughing through forms and temping for crap wages and waiting without him and counting days.
By the way I'm now 27 and so is Jeff.

SarahUK: What a romantic story! You trying to escape the stalker and eventually you fall and love and want to marry...not to forget all the romantic candle light dinner and champagne events. *sniff*
PS I could have still sworn this topic was deleted for a short amount of time there. *taking my loony medicine* *LOL*

That's a lovely story Sarah. What's your timescale with being able to go over and marry the stalker?

Yeah it took me a while to realise that an absolute cracker like Jeff was actually really interested in me rather than just wanting to get in my knickers! Looking back at the photographs I wonder what the hell took me so long - he's gorgeous I don't know why I didn't jump on him first chance I got! By his own admission he "ran around after me like a little dog" and still does sometimes (or so he claims) and well thank the Lord we got it on in the end because he really is the best man I ever met and the best thing that ever happened to me, I can't wait to be with him.
K-1 wise we've been officially engaged since October and have both just been to have our photos taken and I'm about to mail all my stuff for the I-129F and G-325A off to him. I'm praying that vermont are as speedy as possible and that we have the visa by April next year.
