They manged to not laugh, but when the woman was dressed again, the nurse left the room and apparantly collapsed in laughter behind the door. When she looked up the patients husband was sat staring at her.
In my nursing days assisting with well women exams I have (unfortunately) seen many tats and piercings that have sometimes amused me or horrified me, but each to their own.

I have no ink, but if I was to get some, I think I'd go for high art...

I think this guy's work is incredible. I just don't have the balls to do something quite so extreme!

Hhmmmm, I don't really get these. The only one I kind of like is the full back dolphin one, the arm ones I don't like at all, but maybe I'm just missing the point. Very neat work though and the colours are intense

Its certainly different, but the more extreme it is, the more likely it is that tastes will change. Who can honestly say they keep the same hairstyle, clothes style, shoe style, anything style for their whole lives...? I read somewhere that the biggest growing sector of the tattoo market was in tat removal - although all that could mean is that its gone from one shop to two so the market has doubled

I have tat's on my arms, shoulders, back... To be honest, unless they come up in a conversation (like this one) I don't really SEE them.
I guess over the years, you just become so used to the way you look that it doesnt register anymore.
The ones on my arms are obviously there for me to see, but I dont even notice them. it's just my arms and i don't pay any more attention to them than I would have done before getting the inkwork done.

Now I think about it, I could have saved myself the bother.

Its interesting that a lot of tattos seem to be in areas where the owner can't easily see them - eg the so-called Tramp Stamp (a phrase I'd never heard before this thread!). Wonder what a psychologist would say about that?

I'll know I've been here too long when that will seem normal!

You are all going to hell:

Yes my neighbour was saying that she'd told her sons not to get tattoos as they then couldn't be buried in the Jewish cemetary. She did herself say it was then rather nonsensical to require circumcision.

Todays offer was for up to 76% off tat removal:

Like octopi, tattoos contain ink, are typically found among sailors, and can frighten young children in swimming pools. Protect tots from scary tats with this Groupon
Unquote

although I can't actually remember the last time my kids were frightened by a sailor in a swimming pool.....

$60 for 6sq inches, rising to $199 for 22sq inches

I'm probably in the same boat, with my stubborn belief that I can still fit in the same size speedos I wore in college 30+ years and 100lbs ago.....

Some might say pasty, but I prefer to think of myself as having masculine porcelain skin or the male equivalent of a fair skinned English rose. But it is harder to think positively about my complexion after I was with my daughter at the pool and my wife was in the pool side bleachers watching on. my wife overheard some other folk ask amongst themselves, but about me, "Is he sick?", she told me she turned to them and said "No, he is just English".
