I forget to mention medical includes that green stuff people grow in their gardens in the PNW. Its strange how the PNW is all in favour of a $15 minimum wage.

I quite agree that the scenario you paint would save some money on premiums. My impression is you are ignoring that someone making $10 an hour with a family simply doesn't have the ability to pay excessive medical care costs. And simply many making $10 an hour don't have any cushion to save very much.

Where does the savings of $500 a month come in ? If someone is working at $10 an hour, assuming that they are not a temp and working for a company full time that offers medical insurance, if the company's premiums are reduced does that mean company would pass on that benefit necessarily to the workers ?

Simply many people cannot afford proper medical care- real wages have stagnated while medical costs have soared over the same time period.

Before everyone gets the $15/hour minimum rate they'll find some way to automate many of those jobs... guaranteed.

Already automation is taking over many low paying jobs in China and other countries so Trump's claim that he'll bring back jobs that have moved offshore is just another of his bullshit promises.

Actually a wage increase of $5 in that range could easily be eaten up by loss of subsidy.

Anyone on $10 an hour, if it's a household income, isn't buying health insurance; they're on Medicaid (assuming they live in a state with a scrap of humanity).

Anyone know how copays and deductibles work with Medicaid - do the patients need to pay anything out of pocket for medical services?

Might not qualify for Medicaid, depends. For an individual think it is $7?
