I think that's a fair statement to make, I just don't watch it.

What enables the BBC to make programs that are loved around the world, such as Planet Earth and the like, is the unique way it is set up and funded. Personally, I think £13.00 a month is cheap for what the BBC gives the public.

I haven't even mentioned the comedy. Imagine a world without Blackadder or Red Dwarf because some random advertiser didn't want to buy space in the break so they lost revenue to produce the show. That's not a world I am prepared to live in.

My issue is solely that the fee is forced upon anyone who wants to watch other channels. I definitely could have lived without my two BBC shows.

BBC radio is pretty crap too - a couple good shows on Radio 2 and that was it.

Then watch OTA channels. At least you don't need to fork out anything per month for that.

I agree cable here is priced highly, but then so is Sky in the UK.

OTA has nothing I want to watch. It's not free, I pay money to PBS most year, plus I pay taxes.

Sky TV is around £61 a month, that's about quarter of the retail price for Comcast. that also includes internet, phone and taxes.

I miss the open university shows they used to play. Some were quite interesting

I never thought it was such a big deal.

BBC Education programs are generally of a high quality. Without the BBC there would be a lot more stupid kids. Maybe that's why the UK believes in global warming and the US doesn't. David Attenborough affected a lot of lives.

Traffic Cops moved to Channel 5 this year

Nice to be able to move away from my DNS / TV and still be able to watch some stuff.

The Android client seems pretty good so far on my S7 Edge. The IOS one is working too but not sure if Mrs. N has tried to do much with it yet.

Just need the Roku now. :)

It is a shame you have to work. Being retired I am now watching Fawlty Towers. I can let you know that the app works very well, so you'll be able to use it when you finish work.
