7pm approaches and Peter O'Toole's Man of La Mancha seems like appropriate viewing...

Re: 2020 Election

Indiana projecting to go to Trump, Vermont projected to go to Biden.

Trump currently leading in the popular vote.

Florida neck to neck. Georgia too.

I'm watching the count using the BBC - https://www.bbc.com/news/election/us2020/results

Not sure if it auto-updates - I'm hitting refresh when I take a look.
I like that it shows when the polls close for the states, and that it has grouped them to help see if results are significant :)

I'm doing the same, fascinating zooming in and seeing each county as they count the votes. Looks like Trump's going to win Florida though, dammit! I was hoping for a quick positive result for Biden there so I could go to bed.

I can’t help thinking this is going to be a lot closer than it should be.

The Beeb map is wildly different from the Guardian map in a couple of cases, at least in Illinois and South Carolina.

I don't think the Beeb one can possibly be right on either.

Guardian has, Virginia 39% Biden; 59% Trump, but called for Biden. So complicated and confusing.

Yes, seem to be called in some cases with tiny percentages of the vote in. At least on their site.

Looking at Politico at the moment but it's not a site I'm very familiar with so will have a look at the BBC as well.

The Politico one seems more consistent with The Guardian one. The Beeb is out there a bit.

Edit - they seem to have fixed the Beeb one.

Re: 2020 Election

Each election I am reminded why I could never live in the South, I'd go bonkers having to live in such conservative country.

This election is too close for my liking, I honestly don't understand what people see in Trump. He is like the total opposite I would ever want in a US President.

"Trump is leading in the senior vote by roughly 3 points, 51 percent to 48 percent, which is a narrower margin than recent elections."

"Still, these older voters reported that the economy mattered more in their decision in the presidential race than the pandemic. Thirty-one percent of adults 65 and older said the economy was the most important issue affecting their vote, while 24 percent said the same of the coronavirus."

From NBC exit poll data.

Re: 2020 Election

Just one random result. In 2016, Dems won Massachusetts +26. 2020, Dems won it +45. That’s a pretty significant improvement.

Edit - sorry, I just realized that’s just an early guess from politico....

Re: 2020 Election

Sounds like Florida is Trumps. Florida is 'must win' for Trump, disposable for Biden. But still, puts more pressure on other states. PA becomes more and more important.

Im surprised that Trump has 88 out of the 270 to win even this early in the game.
