Oh you mean the gay porn that the proud boys make for each other ? I thought that was just your normal run of the mill butt plug. When did we start calling those anal prongs?

Sorry, can't help you on terminology, there's not a lot that goes in through my out door.

Re: 2020 Election
I thought prongs meant two pokey things attached at one end. I'm not a fan of one probe but two probes together sounds very unpleasant let alone being electrical.

Steerpike, I highly recommend you listen to this episode of the ReplyAll podcast (one of my favorite technology/investigative reporting pods).
They interview the guy who started '8chan' and he essentially provides a biography of who, and how, 'Q' came to be, the resulting power struggles behind the scenes the the out of control conspiracy theories - absolutely fascinating stuff!

I've been an internet user from the early days, and in general, as a 'programmer', I have no problem understanding these things, but the whole '2chan/8chan' thing is a total mystery to me! I still don't quite understand why you would want to use something like 8chan rather than a more classic 'forum' like BE; the layout / presentation of 8chan seems way more primitive. Maybe the reason for the continued existence of 8chan is the inherent support for anonymity, although I'm still not understanding the whole crypto / password / identity thing that seems to be tied to 8chan.
I got sucked into reading about some woman who is convinced she is being mind-controlled by some 'hive', who want to cannibalize her adrenalin (spinal fluid) ... she also claims to have been a sex-slave of Tom Hanks (apparently all major themes of the q-anon universe) ... oh my ... I don't know if I can ever un-see what I've been seeing these past few days!

The bellweather town.

Indiana is an odd place. Ostensibly a midwest farming state, it's home to both some very conversative points of view as well as a younger, more progressive crowd. According to current polls, Trump is currently well ahead in Indiana.

Finally got to listen to the podcast as I drove from AZ to CA this weekend. I've since spent the past 2 days trying to fathom '2chan', '4chan', '8chan', and following some of the scary, bizarre links found there.

There's a podcast series called War Head which follows investigators hunting down online CP distributors. It's an incredible documentary of international police efforts, but some of the facts relating to how prevalent it is, and how many people are participating will leave you questioning humanity.

Some things are better left un-investigated.

I found this somewhat detailed article about q-anon - worth a read.

"U.S. Appeals Court Sides With Texas On One-Per-County Ballot Drop-Off"
Can someone help me understand why this is a big deal? With mail-in voting, you but the ballot in the mail, so there are thousands of "ballot drop-offs" in every county.
Is the issue that many counties do not send postage-paid envelopes with the ballots? So voters have to pay for postage?
