2020 Election

There is a good reason I like to shop Patagonia and have trusted my life to Chouinard gear many times since the start of the '80's.

Re: 2020 Election
I was certified, by the county, by the time I was 16 to instruct and lead groups in both - so basically schoolkids and scout groups.. A couple of mates and I would slope off down to the local climbing wall at our youth centre (did I mention I also worked at the youth club?) during Wednesday games afternoon's under the guise of doing a bit of climbing. I used to enjoy our afternoons playing snooker while everyone else back in school was running round chasing different types of ball.
Then everyone else was off to uni and getting proper jobs, while my life up to the age of 25 was just a blur of doing daft things and taking unsuspecting kids and occasionally their parents, climbing, caving, kayaking (sea and river), whitewater rafting, sailing, expeditioning, mountaineering and canyoning. Then I had kids and had to work for a living.
EDIT: USA Today have removed the visuals, presumably because someone kicked up a stink, Esquire aren't so fussy: https://www.esquire.com/style/mens-f...e-tag-message/

We just got our October surprise. RIP RBG.
SCOTUS jurisprudence is about to take a hard right tilt for the next 30 years.

I had to re-register in California since I moved this year and to update address they make you re-register, so I did that, printed the signature form at the end of the online process, signed it and mailed it off.
Yesterday got a letter from the county voter office, they never received the signature card apparently, and sent the registration form back with a big red stamp in the middle REJECTED.
I am going to submit it again, and send off the signature card again, would be nice if they just accepted digital signatures for those overseas or a scanned copy of the signature card via email, but nope, gotta send the original back.

Behind a paywall, but PJ O'Rourke wrote a fantastic article for today's Times about this election:
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/t...-yet-p7q3wchk7
Caveat: PJ O'Rourke is one of my favorite political commentators and writers. I admit upfront that I agree with a lot of what he believes.

Is there a single paragraph you can excerpt that sums it all up ...?

First of all - a great read, whether you agree with the content or not.
Second ... I was not familiar with archive.today . I can see that they hold archives / snapshots of websites. But what triggers their archives? Did you 'trigger' the archive and make it available for us, or does the site automatically archive as much of the web as it can - like Google? Or is it the kind of site that one can reliably assume that 'someone' has already triggered the archive for you?

I didn't even know O'Rourke was a columnist, but I remembered him from National Lampoon in the 70's.

Re: 2020 Election
Best quip for me was where he talked about how Biden should have had State (with Hillary as its Secretary) have a word with Hunter about the appropriateness of his Ukrainian gig. But he didn't, and there were negative conseqences, thus proving the adage "Spare the Rodham, spoil the child."
