Just want to make it clear I have never said anything nasty about Leslie.
So far it seems that Hillary has raised $350m and I believe but can not be bothered to check that that is mainly larger contributions rather than $5 from Granny's.
Do I think that this is all down to altruism, well no. Is there a history that suggests investments into political campaigns has been rewarded big time favourable legislation etc, yes. Does this apply to both parties, yes. Seems to remember some of the emails released had calls from donors..
I think I only every voted positively once, usually I voted for the least objectionable.
Can not see that applies this year, any vote gives credibility to the process it does not deserve.
Still hoping for some bolt from the blue.

Not only is this thread epic, Shakespearean and Biblical, it's an historic document.

1) George Soros is a big-time donor to the democrats. Soros is a rich businessman, but he's also passionate about liberal/progressive causes. Does he donate to Clinton because he expects favors for his business, or because he believes Clinton is more closely aligned with his liberal views? You could probably ask the same question about the Koch brothers and the republicans. I tend to believe they each donate to further their socio/political agendas, not to further their businesses.
2) Hilary has said she will push for campaign finance reform (overturn citizens united)- so she's in support of cutting off the very funding she's currently benefitting from. Do we believe she's just paying lip service? I don't.
