It occurred to me, when watching Pence's acceptance speech, he might actually be a true believer. I have known a lot of extremely conservative people who are sincere in their beliefs and live their lives accordingly. I may not agree with these folks on everything but I do appreciate the lack of hypocrisy. Shame on him for being seduced by Trump though, dumbass.

I have no idea what Hillary will do. Something safe I reckon.

Usually the VP pick is someone who won't take the spotlight from the candidate. But in the case of Clinton I don't know if that's possible.

I don't know any conservative politician who isn't a hypocrite.

Conservative seems unnecessary.
Pence is anti-gay and supports controlling women's medical and biological choices. He's my least favorite kind of politician. Yet, today, I feel sorry for him. He just stuck his head in the lion's mouth.
Chris Christie and The Newt were prepared to do the same. Obviously the old saying that the Vice-Presidency "isn't worth a pitcher of spit" seems to have been forgotten.

I cant help feeling sorry for Christie He was hanging around Trump like a love struck kid hoping for the slot.

Anyway he was reported to be drowning his sorrows in 16 oz steaks and whopping great desserts. Last seen on the arm of Mrs Christie leaving a Washington bar, the worse for drink and sobbing quietly on her shoulder

I don't like leaders who are devoutly religious. One never knows if they prefer seeking guidance from something up in the sky rather than the people around them who were picked to do the same

Not necessarily. Bernie Sanders is about as genuine as it gets when it comes to politics

While I understand your point, it tends to be the conservative politicians who put up the bills banning abortions and gays then send their mistress away to get fixed and come out of the closet.

I tend to be more open on this issue, can think of numerous examples from all sections of the political establishment.

Hillary has been an actual accessory to mass murder and mass torture and mass destruction of homes; Trump has only talked about what he might do. Nobody with an ounce of compassion could prefer a proven psychopath to someone who speculates that he might become one. As for the Hildebeast's supposed "neo-liberalism", this election has nothing to do with that. It is about enriching her sponsors, and if that involves wiping out half the villages in the Middle East, that's what she'll do. The woman is a monster. I won't say you're massively ignorant for denying that, but you are certainly bringing naivety to a whole new level.
Trump has said he will use torture.
Trump has said he will intentionally kill women and children as a strategy against ISIS and others.
Trump has said he will compel troops to commit war crimes.

Bad things may have happened as a side-effect of some Clinton actions (as with many, many presidents and secretaries of state), but we're talking orders of magnitude bigger problems with Trump here. He needs to be kept well away from any decision-making role when it comes to foreign policy.

There are plenty of crooked Democrats who've been arrested or kicked out of office.

Now that the fact has been conceded, may we please discuss the specific individual that will potentially be one heartbeat away from the presidency?

The fact that the likes of Rod Blagojevich exists, does not prohibit a discussion of the qualifications of Pence. There is a bit of urgency in the case of the latter, whereas Blagojevich is unlikely to get us into any wars any time soon.

That's the problem. You try and point out how bad Trump and Pence are and the response rather than try to argue those points is "yeah but Hillary".

I don't even mind the "yeah but Hillary" approach because she is running for president. However they are rarely followed with real life facts describing how and why she is unqualified in that poster's mind. Zargof and I have posted more (informed) criticisms of Clinton than any of the Never Hillary posters on this thread.

It's always nice to see someone who claims that his faith is the biggest thing in his life align himself with someone who thinks it is acceptable to whack women and children as a strategy.
