and playing the part of a war hero on the movies. It doesn't take much thought to despise him. Plenty of Hollywood actors did serve.

Even Elvis spent time in the Army.

My father signed up age 33 in 1940 and was 38 by the end of the war. People were a lot tougher in those days.

At 20 I was of no use to any one. I'm in better shape now at 37 than I was then and I'm still a fat bastard

Meh, it's his life - it's not my place to say what he should or shouldn't have done. All I was saying is if I was to choose between getting shot at, or making shit tons of money, I know what I would do.

Lots of people seem to be questioning that. I saw one article the other day questioning his alleged business acumen. Saying why would you bother putting your name on cheap suits, steaks and Universities to get a few dollars here or there? He is meant to be some great real estate mogul yet is way down the list of actual NYC real estate people. His filings suggest most of his wealth is symbolic in his name.

Another report questioned the potential conflict of interest issues. Presidents and VPs are apparently exempt from conflict laws but still put all their investments in blind trusts. Not so easy when your name is your investment. Can't just forget you have golf courses in a country while you're doing yuge deals with them.

Elvis was drafted. The choice to serve or not was not really his and he was a lot younger than 34 at the time

"Talk grows of replacing Trump at GOP convention"

Unlikely to happen but the thought is rather hilarious.

I still don't understand why all these Republicans are trying to get an independent conservative. Why won't they just get behind the Libertarians.

They probably think they are trying to save the party. More likely to rip it in two.

And more indication of the sewer that is Trump.

While Donald Trump casts himself as a fiscally responsible business mogul, a USA Today investigation found hundreds of people who claim the presumptive Republican nominee failed to pay them for their work. The newspaper found—by combing lawsuits, liens, judgements, and government filings—that Trump shirked on paying, among others, a dishwasher in Florida, a glass-maker in New Jersey, a carpet company, a plumber, painters, 48 waiters, dozens of bartenders and hourly resort employees, real-estate brokers, and several law firms that represented him—including, ironically, some that defended him in suits involving his failure to pay bills.

I can imagine what a 34 year old would have had to go through in boot camp. First off the others would have nicknamed him "pops". The others would have all been in the 18-24 age range, Then all those field exercises and physical endurance tests.

"three pull ups? Is that all you can do old man"

"Come on pops. Get your arse over that wall on the double. You're holding up the rest of us"

"Jeezuz Christ you climb a rope like old people "f**k"

Like the movie that was made titled "no place for old men"

Another question is:

How does a casino go bankrupt? Dodgy.

Oh man I hope they try it. Should make for a nice riot at the convention. Better check all guns at the door.
