The one thing I am pretty certain about is that most people have no clue, I am more reminded by WW1 over by Christmas.

But the point is the same. ISIS can and should be dealt with without any kind of backlash to the wider Muslim population, since ISIS is essentially against them as well.

So it's your fault? :ban:

Well, remember that we went to war with the entirety of Germany, which was appropriate because the Nazis were the German government. The fact that not every German was supportive of the Nazis did not diminish the doctrine of unconditional surrender.

In contrast, ISIS is not the government of anything. It's an insurgent group that is at war with various established governments.

And unlike the Nazis, ISIS makes a point of killing other Muslims. ISIS is a greater threat to Muslims than they ever will be to us.

Ironically, the American right agrees with ISIS: both see the group as ambassadors of Islam. The fact that the group is self-appointed and not particularly nice to their own kind doesn't bother either the right-wing here or the fanatics over there.

This. Is. Insane.

OK, it's not actually insane, it's pretty standard stuff for Trump.

Here's another thought. We all know that the GOP has been pushing hard for Clinton to be indicted over her email server. But you have to wonder why they aren't doing the same thing over Trump promising Carson a Cabinet position in return for his endorsement...

Why do you defend Trump? Is it because you want to disagree with anything that your enemies on this thread say? Or is it because you think he's doing the right thing and needs you to defend him? Most level headed conservatives do not agree with the latter. He's not a conservative, he's not a Republican, and he's ruining your party. Why do you love him so much?

Voting lines are apparently insane here in AZ. Some bright spark decided they didn't need the 200 places they used in 2012 and only opened 60.

Any interesting news yet from AZ? I can't find any election coverage, maybe it's too early. It seems that Brussels has taken over the news cycle entirely.

I wonder if today's events will affect outcome?

I notice Cruz is now saying we have to secure the borders until we can carry out the appropriate background checks.

Not considerably.

Unfortunately, people are becoming inured to this sort of thing. I can't see somebody waking up in the morning, hearing about the attacks, and suddenly feel differently about their choice in the election. And, by 'choice', I include those staying home and abstaining as well.

Brahm is the local NBC news anchor. I don't watch his show but follow him on twitter. He's usually pretty on top of things and will probably have the first lead on anything. Polls still open for at least another hour and a half ish. I think they close at 7pm local.

Looking through his twitter feed, sounds like at least one polling place ran out of Dem ballots!

Sounds like some serious shit is going down in AZ. Closed primary so independents can't vote, yet seemingly many reports of people mysteriously listed as independent when they shouldn't be.

Something Is Going Seriously Wrong at Arizona Polls Today
