That being said, they would much prefer to have Bernie Sanders as an opponent because he can be torn to shreds as a pinko commie socialist. They haven't bothered to attack him because it is presumed that he will not be the nominee and because they are hoping against hope that he might be the nominee. Their efforts to attack Clinton has gone as far as they can go and they really won't be able to do much to her that they haven't done already, whereas Sanders represents fresh meat.
Aside from the loathing part (which is true) that's pretty much what I said.

If sanders is your man, vote for him. But I believe that's likely to hand the election to Trump.

She's proposing that Medicare be allowed to negotiate prescription drug prices (in the same manner that the VA can) and the ability to import drugs under certain circumstances. Is that an expansion of the ACA? Not really, unless you believe that any legislation on healthcare moving forward is an "expansion of the ACA".

Frankly, I don't really like Clinton at all. I like Bernie, but only because he's kind of a cute old guy with an honest passion.

But in politics of the two, her chances are far better.

I am a right-leaning centrist by nature, but there is not one republican candidate that I find remotely sensible. The entire party is living in an alternate reality.
The idea that just because Clinton's policies are more moderate some how makes them more realistic shows you haven't been paying attention over the last few years. Compromise is a dirty word to Republicans in Congress. Anything that is proposed by a Democrat will be shot down. Why does anyone think that is going to change?

Case in point: after Sandy Hook, Obama tried to expand background checks, something that was supported by 90% of the population. Couldn't get it done. Why? Because the NRA and their pet Congressmen stopped it.

Everything that Obama has proposed has been shot down, and I don't see how that will change if Clinton is President.

Well then, don't vote. That'll show 'em.

It's way more than that. And again how is it going to get through Congress?

One would hope that if Trump is the nominee the Republican down ticket will take a hit and the Dems will take control of at least the Senate and possibly the House.

That isn't what you said. At all.

Contrary to your assertions, Clinton's centrism makes no difference in how diehard Republicans perceive her. She could shift left or right, and it would make no difference at all.

Agreed, but there's way to much gerrymandering to make that the House flipping likely.

There is some data from the Michigan primary that makes me hopeful on that front. Basically Michigan is an open primary so you can choose to vote in any one of the races. There is a suggestion that many Ds switched to the R ballot to vote Trump. This is presumably to troll the GOP into getting in the voters' opinions a worst candidate. It would also explain a bit of the missed polling for Hillary letting Bernie in through the back door.

So, perhaps the D voters are more motivated and the Rs are more spread across too many candidates or disaffected.

Thanks for missing the point.

I realize that you are highly opinionated, but your level of knowledge that does not match your convictions.

It may or it may not. Or part or parts of it may etc. But surely it is preferable to have a candidate who at least garners support of their own party?
