Both Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan are fairly moderate.

Not in the eyes of today's Republican Party...

Can't wait to see the candidates tonight try to outdo themselves in spouting nonsense about why Obama shouldn't be allowed to appoint.

He can not appoint, he can nominate.

Never heard of Sonia being called moderate?

She's far from radical.

I wonder how much time will elapse before Trump says what a good a Supreme Court justice his sister would be.

At least they don't have a cattle gate so Ben Carson didn't get stuck again.

Someone needs to put a bag over Carsons sleepy face so he can nap.

Kopel said he testified in the Senate confirmation hearings of justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. Sotomayor, he said, “told the Senate that she considered Heller settled precedent”, but then voted against it “at the first opportunity”, when she joined the dissent in the 2010 McDonald v Chicago case, which clarified that the second amendment individual right established in the Heller case also applied to the states.

Let's see how quickly and how much they politicize his death.

Mind, these are (some) of the same people that when 5-6 year old children get slaughtered in their school, say it's "too soon".

A nomination becomes an appointment when it's approved by the Senate. The Republicans can't stop Obama from nominating; they can try and stop approval of his nominee.
