I guess it depends on the extent of the cloud cover, so I don't think you would get enough under thick cloud.
Think you would get enough in the UK though as there has been plenty of sun this summer, does it mean if you get zero sunshine?

Depends how you define sunshine. I used to notice that if the sun shone for more than 10 minutes, everyone would be going round saying 'Isn't it a lovely day.'

Here I get wall to wall sunshine. It is great.

No, sun does not equal cancer. Sunshine protects against some forms of cancer, and helps you produce vitamin D.

Different people can tolerate different amounts, and cancer susceptability varies in individuals.

Saying sun = cancer is what you say to retards who are incapable of moderating their exposure.

It is said that the people most exposed to risk are those who take a 2 week holiday abroad and bash the sun, burnt nose and shoulders etc. gentle exposure is fine.

I'm from southern Spain, and here the summer, is summer. I don't like the summer, but is to me to who doesn't like, because there is many people (mainly, foreigners) that they love

In southern Spain (because the summer in the Cantabrian is completely different, colder) the hottest months are July and August. Now, the seriously sun is in the afternoon, and is not nor of far the sun of July or August. Now is most soft, because the weather is fresh (as the nights) and this when sometimes there is not clouds or windy. And we are not in the fall ...

In fact, there are places in Spain where he has brought forward the grape harvest (which is in autumn) as in Madrid, because there is areas where this summer has been most cool than other summers

Summarizing, I enjoy good time since the end of August to the end of June of next year

But you are not like the brits who go out in shorts and no hats, risking cancer in later life.

And there you have it perfectly expressed.

Sunburn early in life puts you at an elevated risk. Repeated sunburn like Jacky says is a boosting effect.

However, sun does not equal cancer, and it is unscientific and foolish to say it does.

Given that no two people are alike in the exposure levels or their tolerance, only a fool puts an absolute guarantee that sunshine will give you cancer.

All you can talk about is degrees of risk.

OK, you believe that.
Good luck.
A tan is not a sign of health, it is a sign that the skin has been damaged by ultraviolet radiation. When cells are damaged by the sun, melanin rushes to the surface to provide protection against the next onslaught. As you slowly build up a 'protective' tan, your skin is darkening in response to damage on top of damage.
Although melanomas can affect most parts of the body, the most common place for women to get them is on the legs, whilst in men, it is on the trunk, particularly on the back.
Over the past 60 years, damage to the planet's ozone layer has increased the amount of harmful radiation that reaches your skin.

Ive not been up there to look recently, a full head of hair though, perhaps that helps, but I know some people have problems with too much sun on the nape of the neck.

is this a variable problem dependent on the person ?
