Even the small pueblos are full of boxy apartments.

Whilst this is happening the younger people play and swim. Throughout they are all talking, praising, criticising, giving advice and generally communicating. None of them seem to sit quietly, they all have an opinion and they all express it freely no matter what their age. From what I have witnessed I would be inclined to say that they air their greivances and as a family talk it through and deal with it whereas us Brits are more likely to keep things inside and therefore allow things to fester more.

I agree, that is the hot Latin blood for you, less stress, nothing to hide or live up to, nobody to impress, family often comes before materialistic needs, strength in numbers and support.

So, I suppose, that cancels out all past misdemeanour's and allows you to hold your head up? By joining a group of people and giving the lone person a "Good Kicking" just because you think they are "suspicious or strange"
Well I suppose if you can sell that to yourself you can believe most things that you wish to.

Was happy when it has been drizzling for a change today. watering the garden has been driving us crazy, no automatic irrigation here like Spain:lol: Also had our own pool in Spain, not that I wanted one here, we actually turned down a few properties because they did have pools. I thought who wants a pool in the UK. used to think it was a bit of a hassle in Spain just for 4 months use. Did feel a bit envious when I heard a splash from next door though this month:(

Siesta...well you can get that in any country can't you if you don't work:confused: Never had one myself, always feel like shit after an afternoon sleep, takes me hours to liven up:lol: I think you can get most things in any country, except perhaps peace of mind and security.

Now what make me think that you are just spouting rubbish? You never had a siesta and yet always feel like shit after an afternoon sleep:rofl:
Clearly you do not read your own trash:lol:

If you run off at the mouth it just invites a reply.

But it shouldn't, should it!

Before Spain I had the advantage of living in France for years and at the end of October we go back to the UK to our house there and think once more as to what we want to do.

For a number of reasons Spain is not for us but do understand it is wonderful for the majority of ex pats who live here and we wish you well.

However what Spain and France do have in common is sites like British ex pats and it never fails to amaze me what people are prepared to say over the web and adopt an aggressive mode. Life is for living and we all hold differing views and what sets us apart is our ability to understand and accept other views without getting the 'hatchet' out.

Incidentally whilst in France I acted for someone in a libel case which was heard in London. We won. But it is not where the button is pushed it is where it is capable of being viewed. So folks just take it easy please.

Indeed. Forum warriors. They would never say some of these things face to face as they don't have the balls. You'd think living in a warmer climate would have a positive effect wouldn't you :D

I wouldn't go back to England. A horrible place. I'm too old to learn their language now. I'd either stay here or go 'onwards' to somewhere else.

Is that all of England or just the part you had experience of? That's a bit like saying I do or don't like Spain. There are parts that are also horrible and parts that are great. Please don't generalise.

True a very narrow minded or even closed minded attitude.
With a bit of broader minded, wider aspect, positive lateral thinking both countries can be most things you would ever wish them to be.

You are bang on DD, if you can afford a foot in each camp then life must indeed be grand. Between the 2 countries I can think of nothing lacking.

I doubt it very much jennie, There are very few similarities between British and Spanish ex-pats.
