you could try buying online from UK - that's what I did.
Google the following........buy wifi antenna.
that should give you a good site explaining everything. I don't want to name the site as its free advertising for them.
Where I live (Canary Islands), there is an electronics retailer that sells antennas, but they were at least double the online price.
approx 100GBP should be sufficient.

I'm assuming that this picks up signals that your laptop wouldn't, does that then give a usable signal? Is it strong enough to give a good stable connection?
I've got an excellent connection, but if I have tried any around me that my computer detects they are rarely of sufficient strength as to be much use.
