Lots to deal with but loving every minute of it.
And hey, those rose tinted glasses-I wear them everywhere.
Thanks for the vote of confidence but between you and me the bears that I brought with me are feeling the heat-still 36 at our place today.

few yobs, kids safety, strong family values, able to walk the streets at night, fine weather,
friendly people, strong cultural identity, proper food ... need I say anymore, but I will ..
Spain is everything that the UK is not ...
You do however need a job here - it is no longer the cheap destination of 10 years ago,

Personally I think the most important thing is your social support infrastructure and this is one thing everyone should work very hard on when they first arrive. If they don't life will feel miserable.

Forget what the papers say, it's great living here. When you hear people moaning or saying that they are doing badly they normally fall into 2 categories. 1) Pensioners that get paid in Pounds Sterling and lose out on the exchange rate (work in UK live in Spain also falls in this group). And 2) people whose job relies on making money out of foreign investors (i.e. construction, estate agents, banking). Most people I am in contact with don't seem to have been affected at all apart from one lady who works in a factory and has had her working week "temporarily" cut to 2 days.

Hi
i dont know what category i will fall into lol, It will be me and my youngest and my hubby will come over once every 3 weeks.
Financially i will be ok and i will probably go freelance in hairdressing but i do not have to make it an income. If i only have 1 client a month thats fine.
I have just got to make sure i am ready to be alone for 3 weeks at a time.

wots all this prejudice about teddybears...............and we know the reason why they are called Teddy - nothing to do with being childish - its from the name Edward who they were named after - ive still got a mahmod steam engine too and lots of toys, including a model stealth bomber which makes a jet noise and its all part of why move to spain, is it still worth it cos if i do move, i will bring all my toys with me (including my huge Roses chocolate jar of marbles)
