Looking back many years over what I consider to be true friendships, the common factor seems to be that the friendship was/is based on mutual respect. You clearly haven’t got that with deceptive people.

Dee_dee, I think the sort of deception you describe is essentially about not being able to face reality. I’ve found that when you face reality your life works better, and these people are surely getting themselves in a mess when they act like that. It must be hell trying to remember who you told what to.

Nowadays a lot of people refuse to face reality. Too many of us try to escape our duties and responsibilities. At the end of the day it’s got to be easier to be yourself, experience great friendships, and sleep well at night.

PS: I didn’t get where I am today without living in a tent with a couple of goats.
Yup, I totally agree with you Toyboy. Friendship is based on trust, at least it is in my book.

PS, I hope that tent at least had some nanny lap dancers....coulda been mighty lonely for you on a cold night if not!!
