I walk round the UK and EVERYTHING is materialistic in every way. The first thing people ask is 'What do you do for a living?' Its always the same question. They might as well ask 'So how much money do you have' lol.

Its all about how you look, what you drive, if you own your own house, etc.

Im only 28 and have been a PR Manager for an International digital camera company and ran my own business. I've been 'wealthy'. But there is no wealth like the wealth of a healthy happy mind, in my opinion.

So now I dont care what people think of me, what I wear, if it looks bad.

What makes you think it will be any different in Spain?

Do you think that it is some type of Utopia here where you will not find the things you dislike?

I know I'm coming off sounding negative or perhaps even attacking, but I'm not. I just think that you will get the same questions here topped off with even more personal ones....especially from the Spanish, because it is normal here to ask personal questions. As for the expat community, they'll still ask if you own a villa with a pool. How many m2. What type of car do you drive. What line of work you're in, etc.

The only real thing you'll be getting away from in the UK (in my opinion) is the weather, because problems seem to attach themselves to us and tag along wherever we go

The white fog has settled thick and hard around the village, all you can hear is the cloaked sounds of doors and shutters slamming closed to keep out the cold creeping mist....as nightfall descends tiny glimmers of light try to pierce the ever present shroud..on the edge of the village, the "special place" where no one goes except nursey has brilliant beams of light emanating from every crack in the fabric of the building, the sounds of electronic pulses shatter the deathly silence building to a crescendo of unbearable proportions..topped only by a gut curdling scream of pain....then darkness and silence...after a while nursey leaves the building and hurries back to the village, her dark cloak pulled tightly against her body to keep out the cold mist, the staccato sound of her stilettoes echo like a machine gun on the cobbles.....Back within the "special place" there is something stirring in the darkness, a deep low moaning sound fills the stagnant air...and then as if all hell has been released a scream of realization.................Oh Nooooooo, I could have sworn I got some more toilet paper when I was last in Mercadonna..Bugger......
