Anyone out there host an es. website? Where did you buy it, how much did it cost, easy to do etc etc? When you have bought your domain name where do you host your site? How much does it cost, easy to upload, etc etc. All help gratefully received. Thank you.

I gave up trying to get .es domains. I believe you have to be a registered business to be able to get one.
I just use .com's and .net's instead through an American company called Netfirms.com . Very easy to set up and use, cheap as well.

I seem to remember in the dim and distant we had a forum member based in the Canaries who was all things web, had her own very successful company, she seemed to be into all that interweb stuff, will see if I can find the thread....BB

All my clients tend to stick with the .com and .net that I register for them. I fancied getting my hands on the .cat for catalunya when they were released, but they are strictly for websites in catalan.
I use godaddy for registering and I have a reseller account for hosting so all the websites I design and manage stay on the same server. Easier to keep track of then!
Hope this helps!

I have experimented with www.34sp.com and find them easy to deal with and efficient.
As a matter of interest, I just looked up using their web site for Domain name availability for www.aspeangel.com and www.aspeangel.es - both are available but cost is different.
DOT com is £20 every two years but Dot es is £35 yearly.
The actual hosting starts at £17.96 per annum. They provide all the usual services and have a Forum for those questions needing a special answer.

You can buy domains from them and their hosting is about €50 a year.
Their support line is nothing less than outstanding. If you send them a message via their support site you will never wait for more than 10 minutes for a reply 24/7

As already pointed out, you can only buy a .es domain name if you are a registered Spanish business (I believe that excludes autonomo).
You can only buy a .es from a Spanish based domain name reseller, the same as you can only buy a .co.uk name from a UK based reseller.
I think that the domain can then be hosted anywhere.

They are excellent for both support and the ease of hosting and managing my sites.

However If anyone wants a site hosted I can do that for them for future reference, I believe any TLD domain is fine.
