I think thats the problem, at any time of year to move from UK to Spain it is almost certain to be warmer. This morning I compared MK to Ayamonte it was the difference between 10*c and 20*c despite the fact it was showing rain for Ayamonte (later confirmed by Pam Sarky to be hissing down) and overcast here.
The Army used to say it took three months to acclimatize and if you moved out in spring and acclimatized before summer then the following winter would seem cold. However anyone coming over for a short break in Jan/Feb when we seem to have our worst weather in UK these days would think it distinctly balmy at 15*c to 20*c daytime temps and would be comfortable in lightweight clothing whereas the Spanish will be in their duffel coats just like us!

I didn`t believe it got cold in Spain till I moved here, 16 cel is cold now.
We still get tourists here in shorts and vests, but then again we have sunbathed around christmas time, starts to cool off around 16.00 though.
