Wanted: someone to teach basic web design

No. If you work with affiliate programs, then you'll be needing lots of traffic. If each new site (free site) brings in a couple of 100 uniques each day, and your sign-up ratio is, say, 500 to 1, (and each sign-up is worth $30), then each site, including the cost of bandwidth, URL and design, will be in profit within a week. And they remain earning with minimum input. It's a numbers game. And with a proper linking structure you can move your hits to where they'll be most useful.
If you have a couple of blogs/sites and you build them up to, say a PR4, then you'll easily be able to sell some rotating banners, which, along with some Google Ads, will already bring in $100 per month.
Most peeps I know just have one site, which they try to optimise. But without feeder sites and blogs, without Google or Yahoo Groups, without constant forum posting, without lots of one page free sites, they have little chance of "making any noise"/being noticed. SEO loves links. And that's what I do! If something can work on a small scale, then just keep rinsing and repeating.

These sites that I think littlelambfound is referring to are starting to become a pain when searching on the net, you see a result you think might be useful and then when you click it it is full of links to things that have nothing to do with what you are looking for... just more web clutter.

As an aside, if you do have a website, and want to make some money, then you'd better use every legal means available to do so, otherwise it's a business FAIL.
Oh....and if anyone does know of someone who wants to earn some cash, sitting here showing me some Dream weaver shortcuts...then don't be shy.

It's all very interesting and thought inspiring.
Especially for the unemployed like myself

Drives me mad - you do a search in Google and all you get is a load of bloody useless directories or link farms with Google Ads in them (spot the relationship there) - and so you are chasing a wild goose again.
Why are there people in the world who think getting rich quick doing sod all is the route to happiness ?! The world's full of rich miserable people, we don't need any more.

GrapeEater,
What eats you? You know nothing of my business nor anything about me except what I have posted here. The fact that I work on the web and you have difficulty finding your searched items through Google are unrelated. That you find my job (which you know nothing about) grounds to call me a "lazy a***", I find offensive.
But more than that, you may call anyone a "spammer", but the minute you call someone whose business is web based a "spammer", then a legal line is crossed. And as you know nothing of me, then you might have a problem proving your point.
What is it with people? I come here to offer a job to someone, and end up being spat on. If you have a problem with Google, start another thread, write to them or picket their offices. (Oh, for your info they also run Google Ads on here).
But on the other hand, my wife has just put a freshly squeezed orange juice and white wine on my desk.

So tell us about your business, I`m thinking you sell webspace and then get hits for your clients by advertising the site, how do you advertise them ?

Nothing really! maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right? Just part of the fun of forums. So tell us all about it, is it a mystery ? So many sites in a week, 90% has to be worthless - you cannot write create, design so many sites in a week that have useful content - impossible I'd say. At best you must be a link farm, advert farm, affiliate or 'borrowing' or buying 2nd hand content from elsewhere. Especially if you sell no tangible product.
No I'd guess 90% of your stuff is wasteful/useless (some call that spam). And some people (a minority maybe) are proud to be a called a spammer I guess ?
Personally, I think spam spoils the web, I think most reasonable people would agree. Just how many more websites does the world really need without a real purpose?
Anyway, we digress and that annoys me too. Get back on track !! (hic, too much vino, too much freedom of speech).
We're singing xmas carols here... how sad! "so here it is merry xmas, everybody's having fun... loook..

Why does a web site need a "real" purpose. Would you propose we ban all of the "my little space on the net" sites?
The guy simply asked if someone wanted to earn some cash.

it's all web litter. What's the point, wastes time - so clean up your space / stop using electricity willy nilly - (oh yeah I am too - hypocrite!!)
I sometimes think the web is a hiding place for the dark and mysterious, me included !!! It can be a poor substitute for real social contact and getting a more active hobby with real people. Overweight, sedate couch potatoes most of us. Sad !!
Yeah OK Little lamb needs help - anybody?
Keep eating grapes - Yummy !! (just got back from Menu Del Dia - so a few vinos - SORRY ;-)
