I got so fed up with telefonica modems that I bought myself a cheap wired one from Carrefour. It has never let me down over the past two years or so.

Can you tell me what the make is?

It’s a Thompson Speed Touch and I’ve just realised that it’s even more than four years old. It’s very basic but works fine.

Mine didn’t install straight out of the box, I’m using XP, but it comes with an installation disc, in Spanish, a wee bit fiddly with the Usario: adslppp@telefonicanetpa and Contrasena: adslppp. I think Fred has already given them.

I put the two folder shortcuts from the installation disc on my desktop, one is ‘Gestor de arranque’ the other ‘Configurador de agente’, for when I try other modems and need to reconfigure afterwards.
