The SUN is finally out.................

Apparently, the high of 17 in the UK today will beat Spain.

Tis funny how the UK weatherpeople sell the weather.
Apparently a large number of ex-pats in spain tune in to GMTV every day so if you are one of the lucky peeps who soak up the spanish lifestyle whilst glued to BritTV you will have seen the same sale

Morning Chris
Yes thank you, we all had a great day, despite the initial soaking!
It was really chilly when we set off, so I was wearing two fleeces - by the end of the day I was wearing one around my waist, and was carrying the other one.
We started walking at 10am and got back to the cars at 7pm!! The sun was lovely by that time.
Really glad you've "borrowed" the sun - I reckon you deserve a bit
Don't keep it too long though, will you? It's supposed to be nice and sunny here for Easter. Besides, if it's nice in the UK at Easter, just think of all those horrible traffic jams and everything that traditionally come with it!
Far better to sit in your newly tended garden, and eat Easter eggs
You'll be pleased to know it's been raining here overnight, there's black cloud hanging over the sierra, and it's decidedly chilly again!
Hope you'll soon be over here enjoying much more sun and warmth.
It sounds like you're doing a great job of hassling the estate agent; let's hope something good happens for you really soon

We watch Anglia news and weather in the morning and often laugh when sometimes they say it was hotter than Spain here yesterday, yeah right for about 15 minutes. ,-)

Hi Brisca,
We have not corresponded before but I always read your posts with great interest and have noted you are from Extramadura which is north of where we want to be in Huelva so I wondered if the river in your middle photo was the river Guadiana?
The last time I visited a shepherd hut was in the hills in Cyprus and I slept overnight. It was not snakes or mice but ticks from the goats which got us and that was very annoying for days afterwards!
Regards,
John.

Hello John (and Kath!)
It's very nice to "meet" you
The "river" in the second photo is actually the reservoir which serves Plasencia. My friends did tell me what it's called, but I'm afraid I can't recall it now
We live near Trujillo, so we have the River Tajo to the north of us, and the Guadiana to the south.
Yesterday's trek was in the Valle de Jerte; really beautiful. It's a fair drive from here, but it's definitely worth it!
Have you visited Extremadura before?
I don't think I fancy your tick experience much!
As we were tramping through ferns and the like yesterday, I was mightily glad I had my long trousers on - and was especially glad my dog wasn't with me. I hate ticks!!
I'm afraid I don't know Huelva at all, but I've just "Googled" it (jdr will be proud, I'm sure
) and it looks lovely!I am looking forward to exploring Andalucia in the future, as I think that area would really appeal to me also.
Have you already got a property there? When do you hope you'll be able to come here, and will you be permanent residents?
Very best wishes from,
Sam(antha)
