OK, so looking at the results of this poll and noting that Matt said he would quit if he got 20 votes, it is only sensible to discount 2 votes from each which Smyth and Matt himself awarded. Then the maths is much better.
Matt doesnt have to eat his words as he really only got 19 votes (OK so strictly speaking he should only get a discount of one as he couldnt vote for himself but for easy maths we can live with that can't we?) but he does get 35% of all real votes cast.
No recount, no battering the opposition into submission..
Just a clear winner

Matt doesnt have to eat his words as he really only got 19 votes (OK so strictly speaking he should only get a discount of one as he couldnt vote for himself but for easy maths we can live with that can't we?) but he does get 35% of all real votes cast.
