Subscribing to Sky TV

Well, BBC1HD, BBCHD, ITV1HD and C4 HD dont need a viewing card to watch anyway, as they are free to air.
Neither is it essential for reception of Five HD either, as ANY Sky card in ANY Sky box will get Five HD.
You really only need to pair the card tot he box for Sky Sport, Sky Movies and the recording functions of the Sky+ boxes.

Five HD does need a sky card - either a one off payment £25 freesatfromsky card from freesatfromsky.co.uk, or a sky subscription card - min of £19.50 per month.
If you are getting that number, then you are trying to watch a HD channel on a non HD Sky box, or you do not subscribe to that HD channel, or you have the HDMI warning message in which case, switch everything off, unplug and replug the HDMI cable intot he TV and Sky box, reboot.
So it depends on what channel you are getting the message on, and what the messages actually says (there are a variety of message that can display that number)
EDIT just seen where you may be confused.
i should have typed:

For example, The Great British Menu is on BBC2 and BBCHD - it isn't on BBC1HD so if you want to watch it in HD you can only watch it on BBCHD. There are many more examples.

Hi Fred.
I only meant to omit BBC HD as its not available on Freesat! This is what my last post was referring to!
I do find some of the replies irrelevant sometimes on this forum!
Its supposed to be informative! Not back and forth with derogatory replies!
Kindest regards,
Carl.

Sky's a rip off anyway, you're better off getting an Abu Dhabi box. Not only for the football but there are plenty of English language films also on MBC & Fox etc

BBC 1 HD is on Freesat HD channel 108
BBC HD is on Freesat HD channel 109
See the freesat channels lis at _http://www.freesat.co.uk/files/1113/0329/4479/Large_Print_Channel_Guide_19.04.11.pdf
Many programmes on BBC2 and BBC3 and BBC4 are shown on BBC HD. It may be a preview channels for some of the day but it is a full channel from early evening. You can watch Top Gear in HD on BBCHD at the same time as it is on BBC2 in SD!

Your quite correct, Just testing the response! Lol
I should not post whilst stressed and not thinking! And I have both systems in my office, and hopefully one day Channel 5 HD will come over to freesat!
And Badr @ 26 east, is a better option for this part of Europe, And you will pick up as you said, fox series/Fox movies and the MBC series!
And its available via Nilesat @ 7 west, An Abu Dhabi box is not needed, Any free to air satellite receiver will work.
Regards, A told off un stressed Carl.

All depends if "Dirty Desmon", who now owns Five, can get out of the multiyear contract Five signed with Sky for Five HD carriage before he arrived. He is trying to get out of the Sky News contract for Fives news programmes, so there may be a slim chance.
