What else can they expect when they employ cheap Polish labour ?
To be honest I've seen it before and I think it's just somebodies idea of a joke.

Painted at a fire station in West Sussex, funny, but can hardly be used as evidence as a decline in the uk education system. On the same incorrect basis, if you look at the spelling in some of the posts on this forum you could conclude the system has always failed.

Quite right. We have an education system that fails vast numbers of people, no matter how good some individual teachers may be. Turning out large numbers of students, who, after a full term of education are illiterate and innumerate in hardly the hallmark of a good education system.

Education in the UK is as good as any in the world the problem is that, as probably elsewhere, it is a postcode lottery and certain articles will use the statistics from the bad areas to infer that all of the education in the UK is bad.
From what we have seen of the level of education in Spain, ( local people that have gone through it from infants to university), they are certainly a tad behind the UK. A close friend started university here three years ago and his education level at that point was, being generous, o level at the best.

I forget, there's scant danger ever of the UK learning from anyone else, is there.....

Actually bil, the weather is fine, just as you would expect a November day in the UK to be. We don't all like constant scorching you know.
We are returning to Spain tomorrow (been in the UK since June), but will be coming back to the Uk, possibly for good, in about four to six weeks. Our house sale still has not completed, but we are selling it furnished anyway, so will just bring the stuff we want to bring back with us and leave it ready for the new owners.
I can't wait.

Unless you can show me at least one single post to back that up bil, I'm afraid that I'll have to presume that you are the mushroom.

I know.
You forget, I lived there for the first 55 years of my life, and have a good memory for silly things. Plus I made notes.

The search facility is still at your disposal.

Don't worry I can wait, not very much else to do this weather.
