Spain's Gagging Law

, but I spent a fair bit of time around the rest of Asturias and Galicia as well as venturing across into N.E. Portugal, which seemed very much like the land that time forgot, even in comparison to the backward areas of Spain. That's quite a few years ago, so I expect it will have changed a bit by now.

Not being able to photograph the police is probably the most worrying but I guess it will reduce the claims of police brutality and corruption as there will be less evidence

I see more and more cars on the road with dash cams.
These usually auto-record every journey. if you are behind a police car then they are being recorded.
I once followed a police car and watched the passenger tossing a drink can out the window.
Are dash cams to be outlawed now?

An article in the paper (Diario Sur I think) yesterday said a man has been fined 300€ for referring to a police officer as "Colega"
Not only does the law mean abuses of power can't (legally) be recorded but it also seems to be increasing the incidence of abuses of power.

One of the first things he did was to place one of his own men in a prominent position in the national TV news channels to control or censor the output.
In addition, the time now devoted to his own rantings has been dramatically increased at the expense of all the opposition parties.
Franco would surely have been proud of him.
