Well it depends, if we are going to compare Spain with Orkney then Spain is a winner...even Torrevieja

Orkney has the highest quality of life in Scotland and second in the UK according recent polls. On the downside the cost of living is expensive.

I'm no exception. I'm not lucky either. I just work my arse off and enjoy what I get over here as opposed to what I would get in the U.K. thanks to that one eyed scottish trouser snake Brown and his retarded government.
There's nothing lucky about wanting to work hard and provide for your family. It's just a better situation that I am in over here than over there. My other friends prefer England and do well there, much better than I do here. They aren't lucky either, they all have to work for a living. They just have good education or trades and a willingness to work. (Not that my trade or education isn't fantastic)

seafood would be cheaper in Orkney as most of it is exported to Spain and most of our immigrants are English two of whom recently murdered another one. I believe Marbella puts down the red carpet for similar immigrants.

Quite Simple.
Sh*t or get off the pot. Dream or Do.
I would say visit & work (try) for 6months, if that works out make the conscious decision to sell up and move - PERIOD.

Don't move and then find out.
Whether it's P.C or not to state I am going to : A lot of failed moves to Spain is in some way or another having a negative effect to a) The Economy b) Your Economy.

Please don't add to it
DSB.

*EDIT*
"Pjj" - I've been looking through your past posts, seems you were selling your house back in 2007 ? Your user name has changed a load over the years and the Posts all seem to be along the thread of moving to Spain / this / that / cars etc etc. Did you ever move, what's the dealio here ? Or are you just a compulsive liar and like to integrate into the Forum with Ideas ? I just see all you old Threads under so many different names but the same email address ? Weird to me at least.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Ding Ding - Round (1). I dream, but don't normally post them.

As I said - Sh*t or get off the pot. Three years of posting a dream
My 'add' to the Thread was relative, don't bother coming to Spain if you can't afford to.

Peace Out.
DSB.
