Specifically, we are talking about washing up! Your whole life to learn it????
His lack of decision making skills is something else though, not related to domestic chores. He ought to know what food he likes regardless of whether the maid/his mother/he himself makes it.

this boy does absolutely nothing for himself at home
you have to admit that cannot be good for him in the long term, and I'm sure his lack of decision making skills will be a problem for him in the future, and he can't make these basic decisions now, because someone else does everything for him!

Imagine you've spent your whole life having people waiting on you, doing everything that you and I just think as second nature. Think of it .... you've never ever done any of those things. Then you end up for a week where you've got to do all these things. Imagine the confusion.

My missus has her own business and works very hard. I would hate to see her come home and have to slave away in the kitchen or doing anything domestic chore related. She hates it as much as I do.
We have a dishwasher and I pay for someone to clean the house - out of my income, not hers. No, NOT a maid. Just a girl who charges about 7 peanuts a week.
Believe me, we are far from rich, but it costs next to nothing to live the way we do. Our "life skills" don´t really come in very useful.
